Bubble

Bubble is a glimpse into a selection of ongoing projects resulting from a recent residency at the Rosamond McCulloch Studio, Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris. The projects are underpinned by my direct engagement with the archives of 19th Century French photographers. In particular Eugene Atget and his cityscapes, shop fronts and interiors.

The city itself is pivotal as I also visually explored the premium perception of the French culture “brand”, particularly in relation to consumerism and advertising underpinned by theories of fetishism, objectification and desire.

The resulting complex, visually dense spherical panoramas and multi-layered glass reflections of shop windows are some of my visual outcomes to date.
